Meriden-New Britain-Berlin YMCA Offers Summer Fun at Camp Thundermoon

The Meriden-New Britain-Berlin YMCA is eager and ready to help your child experience the benefits of summer camp: outdoor fun and exercise, making friends, building confidence, and creating lifetime memories. More than ever, kids need the outlet for physical activity, fresh air, and social interaction that summer camp provides.

At Camp Thundermoon in Berlin, campers enjoy a variety of fun activities. Some of their favorites include kickball, water balloon toss, gaga ball, arts and crafts, camp shows and the end of summer camp carnival.

2023 Y & Rotary Golf Tournament includes Million Dollar Hole in One Contest

The Meriden-New Britain-Berlin YMCA and New Britain-Berlin Rotary will hold their 2023 Golf Tournament at the Timberlin Golf Course in Berlin on May 2, 2023. Proceeds from the tournament support the Meriden-New Britain-Berlin YMCA's Annual Campaign and the community work of the New Britain-Berlin Rotary.
This year’s tournament features two hold in one contests. A lucky golfer could win a million dollars in the Million Dollar Hole in One Contest sponsored by Better Built Basements. The tournament also includes a chance to win a new car in the Hole in One Contest sponsored by Wallingford Buick.

Grant to help provide childcare for 72 city families at New Britain Y

Childcare services at the New Britain Y will benefit from a $1.7 million state grant approved recently by the Community Investment Fund (CIF).

The city’s legislative delegation assisted in securing these funds, which will be utilized by the Meriden-New Britain-Berlin YMCA to make renovations in its New Britain location.

The organization plans to renovate unused racquetball courts into six additional classrooms in their child care center, increasing its capacity by 72 children.

DEEP Free Swim Lessons

The Meriden-New Britain-Berlin YMCA has been awarded the Connecticut State Alliance of YMCA’s DEEP grant for the DEEP Free Swim Lesson program. This grant is made possible through funding provided by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and administered by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP). Those who qualify may receive free lessons.

The New Britain-Berlin-Meriden YMCA provides these programs free-of-charge to those in need, a feat that would be impossible if not for some serious fundraising.

That’s where the Y’s annual golf tournament comes in.

The New Britain-Berlin YMCA is slated to receive more than a million dollars in funding for improvements to its facility on High Street.

The facility renovations include air conditioning upgrades and energy efficient window replacement in an attempt to support health safety and implement cost-savings on gas and electricity for the YMCA.
