Piano Lessons

The New Britain-Berlin YMCA is excited to introduce private piano lessons for children, designed to build confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of music in a supportive, encouraging environment.

Meet Our Instructor

Kirsty Naples is the new piano keyboard and music instructor at the New Britain YMCA. Mrs. Naples has been part of the YMCA in New Britain for 20 years, holding roles such as an active Y member, group swimming coach, as well as a private swim lesson coach. More recently Kirsty has implemented group adult swim lessons as part of a two-person coaching team for the YMCA. 

Growing up in the UK, Kirsty enjoyed a national swimming career, and now continues to train for triathlons, as well as having a successful life as a musician, playing the piano throughout the decades since she was 5 years old. She has been teaching piano for over 25 years in the surrounding area, as well as a volunteer player at the Jerome Home and Arbor Rose care facilities.

During the day, Mrs. Naples teaches in the New Britain school system and has had many roles for over 15 years, more currently as a 1st grade teacher. Mrs. Naples qualified with her UK elementary degree in education, specializing in physical education and dance studies in 1998. She later qualified for a Masters in Special Education from SSCU when she moved to the United States and worked in special education schools.

Mrs. Naples is looking forward to bringing music to the NBB YMCA, including plans for private piano lessons, reading music, and group keyboard lessons throughout the school year, in addition to some great summer programs.

Wednesdays

• 5:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
• 6:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
• 6:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
• 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Sundays

• 11:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
• 11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
• 12:30 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Fees

• Full Members: $110 for a 4 week session
• Program Members: $140 for a 4 week session
