The New Britain-Berlin YMCA is excited to announce the promotion of Matt Walker to Youth Sports Director.
Matthew Walker will serve as the Youth Sports Director for the New Britain YMCA where he will oversee youth athletic programming with a focus on skill development, teamwork, and character building. With several years of experience coaching basketball at the elementary, middle, and high school varsity levels, Matthew brings a strong background in athlete development and sports leadership.
He is currently the Assistant Head Varsity Basketball Coach at the Watkinson School in West Hartford, where he emphasizes discipline, accountability, and confidence both on and off the court. Matthew is passionate about creating inclusive, engaging programs that help young athletes build lifelong skills, healthy habits, and a love for sports in a positive YMCA environment.
